[121] Leviticus 26: The Curse of the Law and Balfour's Times

The very first Scripture that the LWs decoded was Leviticus 26. Gordon deduced that it described a malediction of 7 prophetic times, or 2520 years in January 1992. He was a Jehovah's Witness at the time and was therefore fascinated by the Gentile Times Prophecy of Daniel 4. He thought that Leviticus 26 was a second proof that the Gentile Times lasted from 607Tishri BC to 1914Tishri AD. The LWs had espoused that belief until Thursday January 22, 2004. 

On Wednesday January 21st 2004, our LW research group looked at a talk from Chuck Missler an American Bible Belt evangelist, www.khouse.org. We were impressed by Chuck's total belief in the perfection of the bible, and by the eloquence with which he expressed his belief and proved it to be true from the scriptures. We were also impressed by his presentational techniques which are far more sophisticated than ours. Unfortunately, in the modern multi media world of 2004, people find it hard to READ BOOKS!! They prefer short amusing sound bites or video clips or power point presentations which do not fully logically prove the assertions that they make.

People do not really want to engage their brains. They find it hard to maintain the same train of thought for more than a few, well, more than a few seconds really. Of course this attitude will not work for the modern Christian, which is why 'the media', the great unwitting victims of satanic manipulation, are pushing us all down this intellectual cul de sac. God however, knows precisely what our intellectual capabilities are, and he expects us to use them fully for him. For Jesus said:

27 In answer he said: You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole strength and with your whole mind, and, your neighbor as yourself (Luke 10).

Which pretty much sums up the entire obligation of God's children.

Chuck considered the malediction of Leviticus 26, and rather than proving it from the scriptures, used the old: "Some scholars think", line to introduce the possibility that the chapter contained a 2520 year malediction on the physical Jews.

To cut a long story short, all of Chuck's AD Chronology is incorrect. He has the wrong date for Jesus' death and he mixes the lunar and solar calendars together and did not have one start point or end point of any prophecy correct for that reason. But we were impressed by his sincerity and his by American candour which is always refreshing. We could see that he loved God and that he had total faith in God's absolute perfection, yet Chuck could not truly see very much of this perfection, which made Gordon sad.

But there was one thing that stuck in Gordon's mind, and that was the appearance of the physical state of Israel around 2520 years after the beginning of the Babylonian captivity of the Jews. Gordon already knew that most churches misinterpret Daniel 4 to apply to the physical Jews, and the establishment of the nation of Israel. But in the case of Leviticus 26, the application to the physical Jews was more compelling because Leviticus 26 is after all a part of the Law of Moses. So on further study of Leviticus 26 Gordon came across the following scripture which proved to him that the whole of Leviticus 26 applied to the physical sons of Israel in the literal meaning: 

46 These are the regulations and the judicial decisions and the laws that Jehovah set between himself and the sons of Israel in Mount Sinai by means of Moses (Leviticus 26).

It is obvious with hindsight that Leviticus 26 applies to physical Jews in the literal meaning, but we did have to check that the particular part, verses 28 onwards, which describes the 2520 year malediction was not meant symbolically in the literal account. 

So now we will apply this chapter as it is supposed to be applied, to the literal sons of Israel, and we will see what we can discover about them.

The Definition of the Land Sabbath and the Jubilee

2 When you eventually come into the land that I am giving you, then you must observe a sabbath to Jehovah. 
3 Six years you should sow your field with seed, and six years you should prune your vineyard, and you must gather the land’s produce. 
4 But in the seventh year there should be a sabbath of complete rest for the land. Your field you must not sow with seed, and your vineyard you must not prune (Leviticus 25).

The agricultural year, which was the fiscal year in what was an agricultural economy, started in the seventh month, Tishri (September/October):

22 And you will carry on your festival of weeks with the first ripe fruits of the wheat harvest, and the festival of ingathering, at the turn of the year (Exodus 34).

16 Also the festival of the harvest of the first ripe fruits of your labours, of what you sow in the field, and the festival of ingathering at the outgoing of the year, when you gather your labour from the field (Exodus 23).

13 The festival of booths you should celebrate for yourself seven days when you make an ingathering from your threshing floor and your oil and winepress (Deuteronomy 16).

So the turn and outgoing, meaning beginning, of the agricultural year was the seventh month. The ingathering of all the crops is obviously a good end to an agricultural year. The modern Jews celebrate their new year on Tishri1. The Jubilee was to be celebrated every 50th year after entering into the promised land.

8 And you must count for yourself 7 Sabbaths of years, 7 times 7 years, and the days of the 7 Sabbaths of years must amount to 49 years for you. 
9 And you must cause the horn of loud tone to sound in the 7th month on the 10th of the month. On the day of atonement you people should cause the horn to sound in all your land. 
10 And you must sanctify the 50th year and proclaim liberty in the land to all its inhabitants. It will become a Jubilee for you, and you must return each one to his possession and each one to his family. 
11 A Jubilee is what the 50th year will become for you. You must not sow seed nor reap the lands growth from spilled kernels nor gather the grapes of its unpruned vines (Leviticus 25).

Since the Jubilee had all the features of a Sabbath year, it was also a Sabbath, in fact a greater one. The Jubilee year again was from Tishri to Elul. Since it was a sabbath, presumably the actual release occurred on Tishri10.

Having established the details of the Sabbath year in Leviticus 25, let's look at the details of the covenant between Jehovah and his people in Leviticus 26.

The contract in law between God and the sons of Israel

Please read Leviticus 26:1-35 and then consider the summary below:

Verse 1

National Obligation on Jews to avoid false worship.

Verse 2

National Obligation on Jews to keep Sabbaths.

Verses 3-13

Conditional Blessings Jehovah covenants to provide under this agreement, as King over his people.

Verses 14,15

Clauses showing that there are penalties for breaching this covenant.

Verses 16-31

Details of the penalties (maledictions) for breaching, the false worship obligation.

Verses 32-35

Prophesy that the Jews will fail to keep the Land Sabbaths, and that the penalty (malediction) they will pay (suffer) will be an eviction from their land.

This chapter is a contract in law between God and the whole nation of the sons of Israel collectively. This contract is split into two parts:

{1} A false-worship prohibition part, with a blessing and a malediction
{2} A Land Sabbath-keeping part, with a blessing and a malediction.

Now both houses of the Jews, the house of Judah and the house of Israel, themselves breached both of their obligations under this contract. They therefore suffered both of the prescribed penalties (maledictions). The lengths of these breaches are given by the Prophetic actions of Ezekiel:

1 And you, Oh son of man, take for yourself a brick, and you must put it before you and engrave upon it a city, even Jerusalem.
2 And you must lay siege against it
and build a siege wall against it
and throw up a siege rampart against it
and set encampments against it
and put battering rams all around against it (Ezekiel 4).

This refers to one siege in the literal meaning (of Jerusalem with Solomon's temple) and a further 5 sieges, falls and destructions of Jerusalem (Under the law Zerubbabel's/Herod's temple, and the four true Christian religious administrations) by the Immediate Repetition Principle.

3 And as for you, take to yourself an iron griddle, and you must put it as an iron wall between you and the city, and you must fix your face against it, and it must get to be in a siege, and you must besiege it. It is a sign to the house of Israel.
4 And as for you, lie upon your left side, and you must lay the error of the house of Israel upon it. For the number of the days that you will lie upon it you will carry their error.
5 And I myself must give to you the years of their error to the number of 390 days, and you must carry the error of the house of Israel.
6 And you must complete them. And you must lie upon your right side in the second case, and you must carry the error of the house of Judah 40 days. A day for a year, a day for a year, is what I have given you.
7 And to the siege of Jerusalem you will fix your face, with your arm bared, and you must prophesy against it.
8 And, look! I will put cords upon you that you may not turn yourself from your one side to your other side, until you will have completed the days of your siege (Ezekiel 4).

Ezekiel is besieging Jerusalem, which is the brick. The iron griddle which acts as an iron wall is heavenly protection for Jerusalem from God. Now these prophetic actions are very carefully and logically explained by the holy spirit. The first side that he lies on is his left side, because the lying on his right side is described as 'in the second case'. Then we read that he is not permitted to turn from one side to the other until he has completed the days of his siege. So the length of time that he is on his first side, his left side, is the length of time until he has completed the days of his siege.

It is the length of the siege of the brick whilst it is protected by the iron wall. But the true God tells us that number of days that Ezekiel spends on his left side is not only the length of the siege in days but is also the years of the error of the house of Israel but stated in days, taking a day for a year. So Ezekiel's actions represent a true time period of 390 years for both the error of the house of Israel and the siege of a protected Jerusalem. So for a 390 year period Jerusalem is besieged and protected by God and Israel is committing a national sin. Incidentally this is the classic mix of a bible account. You want to know the length of 'x' and the account tells you all about the length of 'y'. But then you realise that there is a relationship between x and y which gives you the length of x from the length of y.

But every 7th year and every 50th year from the first agricultural year in the promised land (which started in 1437Tishri1, 21st September) both in the 390 year and the 40 year error periods, was a land sabbath year which ran from Tishri to Tishri. So since these years are taken from Tishri to Tishri, all the years of both error periods must be taken the same way. So these error periods are measured in agricultural years.

We know that at the end of the 390 agricultural years God's iron wall, the heavenly protection for Jerusalem ended and the siege of the city ended. In other words Jerusalem fell to a foreign power. This happened first at the defeat and killing of King Josiah by Pharaoh Nechoh in 608 BC, see - The Chronology from Solomon to Zedekiah. After Josiah's death, his 4th born son Jehoahaz ruled for 3 months, being appointed not by Pharaoh but by the 'people of the land' whilst Pharaoh was busy defending his threatened assets in Assyria against the Babylonians (Cambridge Ancient History). Then Pharaoh removed him, imprisoned him and appointed Jehoiakim, the 2nd born son of Josiah, as a vassal king of Pharaoh, not God.

29 In his days Pharaoh Nechoh the king of Egypt came up to the king of Assyria by the river Euphrates, and King Josiah proceeded to go to meet him; but he put him to death at Megiddo as soon as he saw him.
30 So his servants conveyed him dead in a chariot from Megiddo and brought him to Jerusalem and buried him in his grave. Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah and anointed him and made him king in place of his father.
31 23 years old was Jehoahaz when he began to reign, and for 3 months he reigned in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah from Libnah.
32 And he began to do what was bad in Jehovah's eyes, according to all that forefathers of his had done.
33 And Pharaoh Nechoh got to put him in bonds at Riblah in the land of Hamath, to keep him from reigning in Jerusalem, and then imposed a fine upon the land of 100 silver talents and a gold talent.
34 Furthermore, Pharaoh Nechoh made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in place of Josiah his father and changed his name to Jehoiakim; and Jehoahaz he took and then brought to Egypt, where he eventually died.
35 And the silver and the gold Jehoiakim gave to Pharaoh. Only he taxed the land, to give the silver at the order of Pharaoh. According to each one's individual tax rate he exacted the silver and the gold from the people of the land, to give it to Pharaoh Nechoh.
36 25 years old was Jehoiakim when he began to reign, and for 11 years he reigned in Jerusalem (2 Kings 23).

Incidentally applying the Immediate Repetition Principle to the phrase 'A day for a year a day for a year' there is certainly a further 390 year siege of a greater Jerusalem. This applies to the second true Christian Religion, FDS2 we think (we do not know) - see [67]. 

God was the king of Israel only whilst the blessings were being provided

The blessings were such as:

6 And I will put peace in the land, and you will indeed lie down with no one making you tremble, and I will make the injurious wild beast cease out of the land and a sword will not pass through the land. 7 And you will certainly chase your enemies, and they will indeed fall before you by the sword (Leviticus 26).

This is what happens under a good king. For the Sons of Israel said to Samuel:

20 And we must become, we also, like all the nations, and our king must judge us and go out before us and fight our battles (1 Samuel 8).
A king is a judge who has the people not as cases but as subjects. He owns the people and receives taxes from them. This was the situation between God and the sons of Israel until the first regnal year of Jehoiakim in 607. God was king of Israel from Moses until Jehoiakim. Saul, David and his sons were vassals of God. But Jehoiakim taxed the people not for God but for Pharaoh Nechoh. At the time that Pharaoh started getting tax from everyone, God was no longer Caesar to the Jews. For Jesus has taught us that we should:

7 Pay back Caesar's things to Caesar, but God's things to God. And they began to marvel at him (Mark 12).
So if Pharaoh is getting the tax, then he is Caesar, not God. So Pharaoh was the King in the days of Jehoiakim.

The last year of God being king of Israel and giving the blessings was 608Tishri to 607Tishri

The blessings ended and God's kingship ended at the accession of Jehoiakim. This accession was on 608Chislev10 (13th November), see - [97]. So the first agricultural year of malediction under this contract started on 607Tishri1 (23rd September). Samaria fell in the 9th year of Hoshea and the 4th of Shalmanezer of Assyria which was 723Nisan1 (19th March) - 722Nisan1 (8th March). God did not cease to act as king over the sons of the house of Israel at that point because they could be his subject in the Kingdom of Judah if they so chose. Many of them had chosen to stay in Judah under the Kingship of Rehoboam at the start of the kingdom of the North (Israel):

17 As for the sons of Israel that were dwelling in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam continued to reign over them (1 Kings 12).

We should point out that God whilst still being King of Israel allowed all sorts of enemies to conquer them, as can be seen from the book of Judges. But he always rescued them from their enemies within a maximum of 20 years. When he stops being King over Israel they are conquered and not rescued.

The 2520 year malediction on Jacob's physical seed, Balfour's Times

The national idolatry obligation on the sons of Israel under this contract (verse 1) was: 
1 You must not make valueless Gods for yourselves, and you must not set up a carved image or a sacred pillar for yourselves, and you must not put a stone as a showpiece in your land in order to bow down toward it, for I am Jehovah your God (Leviticus 26).

One penalty for breaching this was (verse 21):
21 But if you keep walking in opposition to me and not wishing to listen to me, I shall then have to inflict 7 times more blows upon you according to your sins (Leviticus 26).

So every year of idolatry error, in breach of the obligation of verse 1, during the blessings period whilst God was the king, would carry a 7 fold penalty, a malediction of 7 years, wherein God was not their king. 

We know that the error period for Israel was 390 years and the error period for Judah was 40 years. We also know that Ezekiel lay on both of his sides for a total of 430 days. This is saying that the total error of both houses was 430 years. In other words each house was jointly and severally liable for the errors of both houses. this being the mathematical import of the sleeping pattern of Ezekiel - You cannot sleep on both sides at once!

The 390 error years of Israel ended in 607Tishri and so began in 997Tishri.
The 40 year error period of Judah was the first 40 years of Manasseh's reign, from 699Tishri-659Tishri - see [507]

There were 63 land sabbath years and Jubilees in the 390 years of Israel and there were 7 land sabbath years and Jubilees in the 40 years of Israel. For full details of these error periods and their sabbaths, see - The 390 year error of Israel and the 40 year error of Judah.

Now in the land sabbath error years, God did not hold idolatry against either kingdom as a national sin, because a sabbath is supposed to be a release from debt, and sin is a debt to God:

1 At the end of every seven years you should make a release. 
2 And this is the manner of the release: there will be a releasing by every creditor of the debt that he may let his fellow incur. He should not press his fellow or his brother for payment, because a release to Jehovah must be called (Deuteronomy 15).

So we can split the total of 390+40 = 430 years of error into 63+7=70 years of land sabbath error and 430-70=360 years of idolatry error for both houses. Remember that both houses are jointly and severally liable for each others errors, they are cross liable. So the error splits up as:

70 years land sabbath error for both houses
360 years idolatry error for both houses

The total penalty for the idolatry error at 7 years without God as king for every year of national idolatry whilst God was king is 360 x 7 = 2520 years.

So the sons of Israel suffered the malediction of Leviticus 26 for 2520 years. Now if one reads Leviticus 26 from start to finish we see that God first threatens the Jews with these penalties:

14 However, if you will not listen to me nor do all these commandments.
15 And if you will reject my statutes, and if your souls will abhor my judicial decisions so as not to do all my commandments, to the extent of your violating my covenant,
16 then I, for my part, shall do the following to you, and in punishment I shall certainly bring upon you disturbance with
tuberculosis and burning fever, causing the eyes to fail and making the soul pine away. And you will simply sow your seed for nothing, as your enemies will certainly eat it up.
17 And I shall indeed set my face against you, and you will certainly be defeated before your enemies; and those who hate you will just tread down upon you, and you will actually flee when no one is pursuing you (Leviticus 26).

Putting this is the modern idiom, the Jews would become Losers. Then he says, well if you do not get corrected by this sort of thing you will get the next level of punishment which is:

18 'If, though, during [d(] these things, you will not listen to me, I shall then have to chastise you 7 times for your sins [at some future date]. 
19 And I shall have to break the pride of your strength and make your heavens like iron and your earth like copper.
20 And your power will simply be expended for nothing, as your earth will not give its yield, and the tree of the earth will not give its fruit.

This is a warning about a punishment that lasts for 7 Prophetic Times in the literal meaning. The verses are ambiguously written. It is not immediately clear just from these verses whether the famine is an additional punishment to the 7 times of chastisement or not. However the famine has already been threatened in verse 16, so it looks like the 7 Prophetic Times are a separate punishment from the famine. Next we read: 

21 'But if you keep walking in opposition to me and not wishing to listen to me, I shall then have to inflict 7 times more blows upon you according to your sins [at some future date].
22 And I will send the wild beasts of the field among you, and they will certainly bereave you of children and cut off your domestic animals and reduce the number of you, and your roads will actually be desolated.

This is a punishment of 7 years for each year of national idolatry error as we have seen. But this period is the same period as the 7 Prophetic Times period since the combined national error of both houses of Israel and Judah less the sabbath error was 360 years. So really this is an alternative statement of the length of the 2520 year chastisement that the Jews will get. Again we take the death of children and livestock by wild animals as a penalty separate from the 2520 year malediction. But God does not stop there.

23 'Nevertheless, if with these things you do not let yourselves be corrected by me and you just have to walk in opposition to me,
24 I, yes, I, shall then have to walk in opposition to you; and I, even I, shall have to strike you 7 times for your sins [at some future date].
25 And I shall certainly bring upon you a sword wreaking vengeance for the covenant; and you will indeed gather yourselves into your cities, and I shall certainly send pestilence into the midst of you, and you must be given into the hand of an enemy.
26 When I have broken for you the rods around which ring-shaped loaves are suspended, 10 women will then actually bake your bread in but one oven and give back your bread by weight; and you must eat but you will not be satisfied.

Here again we have the 2520 year malediction threatened and we have a bunch of other penalties which have all been stated above in verses 14-17. So we know that they are a separate penalty to the 2520 year penalty. Now we read the last recital of the 2520 year penalty together with its own much increased penalties:

27 'If, however, with this you will not listen to me and you just must walk in opposition to me,
28 I shall then have to walk in heated/angry [tmx] opposition to you, and I, yes, I, shall have to chastise you 7 times for your sins.
29 And you will have to eat the flesh of your sons, and you will eat the flesh of your daughters.
30 And I shall certainly annihilate your sacred high places and cut off your incense stands and lay your own carcasses upon the carcasses of your dungy idols; and my soul will simply abhor you.
31 And I shall indeed give your cities to the sword and lay your sanctuaries desolate, and I shall not smell your restful odors.
32 And I, for my part, will lay the land desolate, and your enemies who are dwelling in it will simply stare in amazement over it.
33 And you I shall scatter among the nations, and I will unsheathe a sword after you; and your land must become a desolation, and your cities will become a desolate ruin.

These penalties define the 2520 year malediction itself. This 'heated opposition' is God's frame of mind during the 7 times penalty, during which he is really angry, whereas 'opposition' is his frame of mind prior to that. In fact all of the penalties prior to verse 27 were an attempt by God to stop the Jews from sinning so as to get this giant 2520 year malediction! We then read further about these penalties in the 2520 year malediction when God is really angry: 

34 'At that time the land will pay off its sabbaths all the days of its lying desolated, while you are in the land of your enemies. At that time the land will keep sabbath, as it must repay its sabbaths.
35
All the days of its lying desolated it will keep sabbath, for the reason that it did not keep sabbath during your sabbaths when you were dwelling upon it.
36
'As for those remaining among you, I shall certainly bring timidity into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a leaf driven about will indeed chase them away, and they will actually flee as in flight from a sword and fall without anyone chasing.
37
And they will certainly stumble against one another as if from before a sword without anyone chasing, and for you there will prove to be no ability to stand [in resistance] before your enemies.
38
And you must perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies must eat you up.
39
As for those remaining among you, they will rot away because of their error in the lands of your enemies. Yes, even because of the errors of their fathers, with them they will rot away.
40
And they will certainly confess their own error and the error of their fathers in their unfaithfulness when they behaved unfaithfully toward me, yes, even when they walked in opposition to me.
41
Yet I, for my part, proceeded to walk in opposition to them, and I had to bring them into the land of their enemies. 'Perhaps at that time their uncircumcised heart will be humbled, and at that time they will pay off their error.
42
And I shall indeed remember my covenant with Jacob; and even my covenant with Isaac and even my covenant with Abraham I shall remember, and the land I shall remember.
43
All the while the land was left abandoned by them and was paying off its sabbaths while it was lying desolated without them and they themselves were paying for their error, because, even because, they had rejected my judicial decisions, and their souls had abhorred my statutes.
44
And yet for all this, while they continue in the land of their enemies, I shall certainly not reject them nor abhor them so as to exterminate them, to violate my covenant with them; for I am Jehovah their God.
45
And I will remember in their behalf the covenant of the ancestors whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt under the eyes of the nations, in order to prove myself their God. I am Jehovah.'

These are the regulations and the judicial decisions and the laws that Jehovah set between himself and the sons of Israel in Mount Sinai by means of Moses.

The northern tribes started paying for the land sabbaths in 609Tishri, so the 7 times malediction must start after then. The covenants remembered by God are the 1AC with Abraham and the ICC with Isaac and the JAC with Jacob and the LCC, the 'land'.  Also God is making the comparison with their fleshly circumcision, which continues down to this day and the circumcision of the heart, the baptism in holy spirit. In fact the Jews could not be spirit baptised in the second presence until 1918Sivan6 - see [42], [192]. So the 7 times malediction must end before then.

The land that God remembers is therefore the physical land of Israel. The covenant of the ancestors is the law covenant. In fact, to be precise, it is that part of it which is recorded in Leviticus 26. At the end of the 2520 year period God removes his curses, and the Jews stop being physical losers. Today they are certainly not physical losers anymore! So when did this 2520 curse of the law begin and when did it end?

Well the first King to physically remove large numbers of nobility from Jerusalem and successfully besiege the place was Nebuchadnezzar. He started his siege in the third year of Jehoiakim's reign:

1 In the third year of the kingship of Jehoiakim the king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and proceeded to lay siege to it (Daniel 1).

The 3rd year of Jehoiakim was 605 BC. Now sieges obviously last for some time, and work by causing famine, which of course doesn't happen overnight. In the 4th year of Jehoiakim, Nebuchanezzar defeated Egypt and Assyria together at the battle of Carchemish:

2 For Egypt, concerning the military force of Pharaoh Necho the king of Egypt, who happened to be by the river Euphrates at Carchemish, whom Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon defeated in the 4th year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, the king of Judah (Jeremiah 46).

So he must have finished his siege of Jerusalem in late 605 or early 604. Now Jeremiah also tells us in the book of Kings that:

36 25 years old was Jehoiakim when he began to reign, and for 11 years he reigned in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zebidah the daughter of Pedaiah from Rumah.
37 And he continued to do what was bad in Jehovah's eyes, according to all that forefathers of his had done (2 Kings 23). 

1 In his days Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came up, and so Jehoiakim became his servant for 3 years. However, he turned back and rebelled against him.
2 And Jehovah began to send against him marauder bands of Chaldeans and marauder bands of Syrians and marauder bands of Moabites and marauder bands of the sons of Ammon, and he kept sending them against Judah to destroy it, according to Jehovah's word that he had spoken by means of his servants the prophets.
3 It was only by the order of Jehovah that it took place against Judah, to remove it from his sight for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done,
4 and also [for] the innocent blood that he had shed, so that he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and Jehovah did not consent to grant forgiveness (2 Kings 24).

So Nebuchanezzar succeeded in his siege because Jehovah was not going to forgive the national sin of Judah incited by King Manasseh. Manasseh was the one who managed to lead Israel into the 40 year national idolatry error. Amazingly enough, God did forgive Manasseh himself, however, he was not prepared to forgive Judah.

11 Finally Jehovah brought against them the chiefs of the army that belonged to the king of Assyria, and so they captured Manasseh in the hollows and bound him with two fetters of copper and took him to Babylon.
12 And as soon as it caused him distress, he softened the face of Jehovah his God and kept humbling himself greatly because of the God of his forefathers.
13 And he kept praying to Him, so that He let himself be entreated by him and He heard his request for favor and restored him to Jerusalem to his kingship. And Manasseh came to know that Jehovah is the [true] God (2 Chronicles 33).

26 Nevertheless, Jehovah did not turn back from the great burning of his anger, with which his anger burned against Judah over all the offensive things with which Manasseh had made them offend. 
27 But Jehovah said: Judah, too, I shall remove from my sight, just as I have removed Israel. And I shall certainly reject this city that I have chosen, even Jerusalem, and the house of which I have said, 'My name will continue there (2 Kings 23).

So Nebuchanezzar, and the other marauders only succeeded by the order of Jehovah, in order that the national idolatry error would be paid for. So the payment for Judah's sin began when Nebuchanezzar succeeded in taking Jerusalem by the sword, for the scripture says:

31 And I shall indeed give your cities to the sword (Leviticus 26).

Jeremiah is actually telling us that the siege was the beginning of the payment for the sins of Judah 'as spoken by means of his servants the prophets'. These prophets were Moses and Jeremiah himself and Ezra, who wrote Chronicles. So certainly at the fall of Jerusalem to Nebuchadnezzar in 605/604, the 2520 year malediction period had started.

Now 2520 years after 604 BC is 1917 AD. But on November 2nd 1917 (Heshvan 14) the British government made the Balfour declaration by Letter to Lord Rothschild saying:

November 2nd 1917

Dear Lord Rothschild,

I have much pleasure in conveying to you, on behalf of His Majesty's Government, the following declaration of sympathy with Jewish Zionist aspirations which has been submitted to, and approved by, the Cabinet.

"His Majesty's Government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of the existing non Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country"

I should be grateful if you would bring this declaration to the knowledge of the Zionist Federation.

Regrettably, contrary to the stated aims of the British Government, which was the pre-eminent world power at that time, it being the first horn of the Anglo American world power, the whole thing caused massive loss of life and rights to Jews in the Holocaust, and then an awful loss of life and rights to Palestinians as victims of unremitting persecution by the Israelis. 

Now the error of the houses of Judah and Israel  was measured in agricultural years, so the penalty must be enforced in the same units. We can be pretty sure that the siege was completed between 605Tishri and 604Tishri, so the malediction would run from 604Tishri to 1917Tishri.

                 2520 Years (7x curse of the Law)

So here is a wonderful confirmation of the prophetic power of the bible. But there is an obvious moral question that is being begged by this amazing malediction.

39 As for those remaining among you, they will rot away in the lands of your enemies. Yes because of the errors of their fathers, with them they will rot away (Leviticus 26).

Q:  How can God punish the sons for the errors of their fathers for so long??? 

A:  He blessed them for the same length of time.

The LCC was made in 1918 BC at the birth of Isaac. The Jews benefited from this covenant in many ways until 70Ab10 AD when the temple in Jerusalem was raised and the genealogical records of the Jews were destroyed. They suffered from the Law during the 70 year exile in Babylon from 609Tishri to 539Tishri, which is covered below and in section [122]. So they had a total of 1918 + 70 - 70 -1 (there was no zero BC)  = 1917 years of benefit from the LCC. 

This benefit was 'unfair' to Abraham's true genetic seed in the sense that no other race on earth had it and Abraham's true Genetic seed did nothing to deserve it. They got the LCC due to the faith of Abraham, not due to their own faith.

Now the period of malediction and no blessing at all under the law of Moses ran from 70 AD to 1917 AD which period is 1847 years long. But then the 70 year exile in Babylon was also malediction without any blessing. So the total period of malediction with no blessing in 1847 + 70 = 1917 years.

So Jehovah 'unfairly' blessed Abraham's true genetic seed for 1917 years and then he 'unfairly' cursed them for a further 1917 years. In other words he visited the blessings of the father Abraham on his sons for 1917 years and then he visited the sins of the fathers on their sons for a further 1917 years. There is therefore a kind of Justice in the whole deal, if one regards the whole race as one person. However if you were one of Abraham's true genetic seed, then you were a lot better off in the blessings period that you were in the cursings period, from a physical point of view!

But then with the advent of Christianity, statistically speaking, one is at the end of the day, better off being physically disadvantaged, because then one's eyes are more likely open to spiritual advantage.

So now there is another question being begged:

Q: What is the true position and significance of the Jews today?

A: The same as everyone else.

Their period of being specially blessed has ended and their period of being specially cursed has also ended. Therefore they have now returned to the state that every other race is in. We are all the same today! The Jews are not prohibited by God or Jesus from living in the 'Promised Land'. But neither are the Palestinians. Radical Zionism is flawed. The Jews have no scriptural right to live in Israel, but they do have an historical right, the same right as the Palestinians have. 

So now another question is being begged:

Q:  Why did the Jews suffer the Holocaust, after the 2520 year malediction had ended?

A:  God had finished punishing them, but Satan still hated them, and today God affords the Jews no greater protection than he affords any other race. So Satan was able to do a lot of damage. The modern state of Israel is the embodiment of this position. The Israeli's no longer rely on God, they rely on military power. The real problem for the Jews in Israel today is this: Satan loves to copy God. And God used the sons of Israel for good. He used them to teach the whole world about good, and about love and about himself and he used them to save the whole world through Jesus. Satan is desperate now to use them to teach us all about bad and to use them to destroy the whole world at Armageddon. The Holocaust shows us that he has not forgotten his humiliation inside a Jew named Judas at the hands of a Jew named Jesus. So to our brothers in Israel...

You have stopped him making you the victim, please do not now allow him to make you the abuser. 

The 70 year land sabbath penalty

The national Sabbath keeping obligation on the sons of Israel under this contract was: 
2 You should keep my Sabbaths and stand in awe of my sanctuary, I am Jehovah (Leviticus 26).

The penalty for breaching this was: 
34 At that time the land will pay of its Sabbaths all the days of its lying desolated, while you are in the land of your enemies. At that time the land will keep Sabbath, as it must repay its Sabbaths. 
35 All the days of its lying desolated it will keep Sabbath, for the reason that it did not keep Sabbath during your Sabbaths when you were dwelling upon it (Leviticus 26).

So each missed land sabbath is repaid year for year. So both houses will face a 70 year exile from their land, since they are jointly and severally liable for each other's actions. For details of these exiles see [122].

The Gentile Times vs Balfour's Times

Charles Russell, who founded the Watchtower called the period during which God's true people, the sons of the 2AC, do not have God as their king, the Chronology of which he got absolutely correct (eventually) but for some of the wrong reasons, see - [120], the Gentile Times. He identified it with the appointed times of the nations of Luke:

24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled on by the nations, until the appointed times of the nations are fulfilled (Luke 21).

This is a very very confusing scripture. Because in the literal meaning, Jerusalem is plainly physical Jerusalem. So we are being told that the city of Jerusalem will be trampled upon by the Gentiles until Jesus becomes king over the sons of the 2AC, who are not Jews by religion but Christians!! However this was true as the Balfour declaration was made in 1917Heshvan14 which of course was more than 3 years after Jesus became king over the sons of the 2AC on 1914Tishri15.

Then we have the words of Paul:

9 In that he made known to us the sacred secret of his will. It is according to his good pleasure which he purposed in himself 
10 for an administration at the full limit of the appointed times, namely, to gather all things together again in the Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth. In him (Ephesians 1).

These words apply to the Gentile Times. This 'In him' is referring to a second baptism into the new covenant, through which one becomes in union with Christ, by virtue of being betrothed to be his wife under this covenant. This is the second presence. The administration is the third true Christian religion, since there were two in the first presence. Isaiah too prophesies the end of paying for this error period:

1 Comfort, comfort my people, says the God of you men.
2 Speak to the heart of Jerusalem and call out to her that her military service has been fulfilled, that her error has been paid off. For from the hand of Jehovah she has received manifold for all her sins.
3 Listen! Someone is calling out in the wilderness: Clear up the way of Jehovah, you people! Make the highway for our God through the desert plain straight (Isaiah 40 NWT amended by footnote for Job11:6, and Ben Davidson's Analytical Hebrew and Chaldee Lexicon).

This shows that after Jerusalem has paid 'manifold'/many times (in fact 7 times) for her sins, in fact for her and Israel's combined national idolatry error (360 years), then her military service can stop. In other words they will not need to protect themselves any more, because God will be their protection again, which is what he does as their king. So God becomes King over Abraham's seed again at the end of the Gentile Times. And guess who is calling out in the wilderness ?

1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea,
2 saying: Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.
3 This, in fact, is the one spoken of through Isaiah the prophet in these words: Listen! Someone is crying out in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, you people! Make his roads straight (Matthew 3).

John the Baptist was the first Elijah. Charles Russell was actually the third - see [201]. Russell was calling out in the wilderness at the end of the Gentile Times, when Jerusalem had paid of its debt. The Watchtower was the only religion on earth that saw Jesus' coming (which follows every Elijah) at that time. So they were the true religion in 1914Tishri, although they were not appointed over all of Jesus' belongings until 1918Nisan16. But the 7 fold penalty applied to the curse of the law and to literal Jerusalem in the literal meaning of Leviticus 26. So the word symbolic meaning of Leviticus 26 must apply to the Gentile Times and to spiritual Jerusalem.
